An update from our CEO
As we enter another national lockdown and face further constraints, I would like to remind you that we, HML as your acting Managing Agent, have a duty of care towards you, as our client, and as such, we will continue to operate as usual to ensure our services remain unaffected and your property remains in safe hands. Our stance is further strengthened given the steps we implemented during the initial lockdown at the start of last year and the significant experience and knowledge we acquired as a result, together with the additional use of newly improved technology.
In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday night, I would like to update you on several areas surrounding HML’s service and facilities.
HML OFFICES & STAFF
Although our offices are deemed COVID secure, to try and control the spread of the virus all HML offices will remain temporarily closed.
HML staff will continue to work remotely and maintain secure access to our property management and accounting systems. With robust digital solutions already in place, we can still provide our core services during our normal business hours, which remains uninterrupted. Our business hours are 9am – 5:30pm and further support can be provided through our essential Out-of-Hours service* (*where subscribed).
CONTACT & COMMUNICATION
During the initial lockdown, it was evident that ease of communication with clients was of paramount importance. We adopted video conferencing tools to remotely host client meetings with AGM’s, EGM’s and Directors virtually. This was generally a success and therefore we will continue to exploit this method and ensure we sustain regular communication with our clients.
That said, should you need to get in touch with us, our telephone switchboard is fully operational and you can still contact your local office directly. However, please note that with Property Managers working from home and in some cases may be at site, as a gentle reminder please email your local Property Management team or main point of contact in the first instance for direct and immediate assistance.
Our duty of care towards you, our client, remains at the forefront. We will continue to fulfil our contractual obligations, which includes the provision of site inspections where deemed accordingly. This is necessary to ensure the safety of your property and residents. Inspections will be in line with Government measures, with all staff adhering to our existing strict social distancing regulations and hygiene measures, which includes the wearing of PPE as appropriate.
HML’s ‘Essential Services’ remain fully operational, with all teams able to provide the full range of services from Health and Safety, Surveying and Major and Minor Works through to Capital Expenditure reports and Company Secretarial services.
In addition, where subscribing to Out-of-Hours services, these will again operate unhindered.
All personnel visiting sites are provided with full PPE and apply COVID-19 safety policies.
KEEPING SAFE & UPDATED
We are progressively monitoring the latest Government announcements and will take precautions where necessary and in compliance. Any future impact upon our property management duties will be communicated to you as our client.
Although we find ourselves in yet again an unnerving time, with the imminent arrival and anticipation of the vaccine distribution, we remain positive and see this as a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel where one day, inevitably soon I hope, we are able to resume deserved normality within our day-to-day lives.
We will get through this safely together.
